What we collect

• Email address — when you sign in with a magic link.
• Saved article URLs and extracted content — title, cleaned HTML text, and the original link you save or import.
• Basic usage metadata — when an article was saved and whether it came from the web app or browser extension.

How we use it

We use your email to authenticate you and send sign-in links. Saved URLs and article content are stored so you can read them later in your inbox and export your library. We do not sell your data.

Where data is stored

PauseRead is a hosted service at pauseread.com. Your account data and saved articles are stored on our servers (PostgreSQL in the EU).

Browser extension

The PauseRead Chrome extension reads your session cookie on pauseread.com to know you are signed in, and sends the URL of the active tab when you click Save. It does not read page content from other sites or track your browsing history.

How to delete your data

Email abuse@pauseread.com from the address on your account and ask for deletion. We will remove your account, saved articles, and sessions. You can also export your library first from the web app.
